SYNOPSIS
SONNETS is an artistic project of original musical works created from sonnets (twelve in total) by Luís Vaz de Camões, Antero de Quental, and Florbela Espanca, central figures in the Portuguese literary heritage. The music emerges directly from the structure, meter, and musicality of the Portuguese language, respecting the poetic text as the foundational material of contemporary creation. By transforming the sonnet into a contemporary sound object, the project values Portuguese poetry as a living heritage, promoting a renewed listening to the word and reinforcing the role of the Portuguese language as a vehicle for artistic expression in the present. Created and performed by the artistic creation structure Clássica Ensemble, the concert establishes a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, affirming musical creation as a space of cultural continuity.
CONCERT STRUCTURE
The concert presents 12 original musical works, with an approximate duration of 60 to 75 minutes, organized into three parts:

» Philosophical and introspective sonnets, with more contemplative sonic environments.

Third Movement – Florbela Espanca (1894–1930)
» Sonnets marked by emotional intensity, with greater expressive and atmospheric freedom.
